Maria Todorova will represent the Bulgarian folklore on an international festival in Poland

The ХІІІ International Festival “The oldest songs of Europe” will take place in Lublin, Poland, on 5th and 6th October 2012.

Along with their colleagues from Macedonia, Russia, Finland, Denmark and Poland, this year the festival will also present traditional Bulgarian music, performed by Ensemble Ezerets, part of which is our folk singer, conductor and piano and solfeggio teacher Maria Todorova.

Sounds and rhythms of every hue from all over Bulgaria – this is what the chamber voice ensemble ,,Ezeretz” represents. The ensemble was established in 2002 by Iliyan Yuruchki. The singers are talented women who come from different folklore regions, each of them possessing the local colour and an original voice. They impress with their marvelous sound, professional performance of authentic songs from various areas of the country, and contemporary composer solutions.

Together with her participation in the festival, Maria will use the opportunity to organize e two-day workshop on traditional Bulgarian folklore music to the interested musicians in Poland.

We wish them a successful concert and safe travel back home!
